Article Submission Guidelines

 

Thank you for your interest in contributing to The Ohio Archaeologist. We welcome original articles on Ohio archaeology, prehistoric artifacts, archaeological sites, historical research, field investigations, and related topics.

To help us prepare your submission for publication, please follow these guidelines:

Submit your article as a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) document.

Submit photographs as high-resolution JPEG (.jpg) files.

Please do not embed images in the Word document if possible.

Include multiple photographs of artifacts from different angles to show important features.

Photographs should be well lit, in focus, and free of distracting backgrounds or clutter.Include captions for all photographs and indicate where they should appear within the article.

Be sure to include your name, email address, and any additional information that may assist the editor.

Articles are reviewed for content, clarity, and available publication space.

 

The editor may suggest revisions prior to publication. Well-prepared submissions with clear text and quality photographs require less editing and can often be published more quickly.
